Can you remember how we used to simply
drop in to our friends’ home, very often around dinner time, and the
Aunties instantly invited us in to stay for dinner? Can you also
remember the huge plateful of irresistible Macanese cooking that we so
much enjoyed eating there?
Well, you’ll have the chance, once
again, to enjoy some similar food at the Sede.
Hey curry lovers, there will be curry too !!!
Those were the days, weren’t they? We
were much younger then and felt comfortable chattering away in English,
Chinese, Macanese or a mixture of all three languages, all in one
sentence, which only we could understand. Let’s turn back the clock,
reminisce and spend one fun-filled day like we used to have as kids and
young teens.
Let’s try our best to speak in
Macanese that day, or simply use a couple of Macanese words or phrases.
Don’t know how? Well, just have fun trying to figure out what the folks
are trying to say. Look really baffled and you may get a translation. If
all else fails, just enjoy the good food and company that evening.
To add to the fun, make a copy of one
of your favourite photos of bygone days taken many moons and pounds ago.
Put your name and approximate date that picture was taken at the back of
it and send it to Lyce Rozario. Each picture will be numbered and
displayed at the Sede on the day of the event and the folks there will
try to guess who’s who. The one who gets the top number will get a
prize.
To avoid disappointment, please let
Lyce know early if you would like to attend this event.
We can only accommodate a limited
number at the Sede.
Dateline:
Friday September 17, 2010 or when it’s full, whichever comes first.
Cheques
made payable to Casa de Macau Vancouver can be mailed to:
